Christmas is For All People

God Showers His Love On All People

Last week, we remembered why Christmas is so incredibly special, and this week we’ll take it a step further because Christmas is for ALL people! When the angels appeared to the shepherds on that first Christmas, they proclaimed, “‘…Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be FOR ALL PEOPLE" (Luke 2:10). The simple truth is that God does NOT play favorites but shines His goodness on ALL people. The psalmist tells us, “The Lord is good to everyone” (Psalm 145:9a). Paul declares to Titus, “When the goodness of God appeared, He saved us…” (Titus 3:4).

God showers His love on ALL people. In Psalm 42:8, the psalmist testifies, “Each day the Lord pours out his unfailing love upon me.” Love, God’s love, pays attention and takes action on our behalf. Job 23:10 explains, “God knows every way I take, is concerned about it, and pays attention to it.” God demonstrates love in action in Luke 2:11, “Today, in the City of David, A SAVIOR FOR YOU has been born. He is Christ the Lord.”

God shares the pain of ALL people. He made us and our hearts, and so He understands everything we do. “When we’re weak and tired... God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayers out of our wordless sighs and our aching groans” (Romans 8:26).

God sacrificed His Son for ALL people. Paul testifies in 1 Timothy 2:6, “Jesus sacrificed himself for ALL PEOPLE to free them from their sins.” He elaborates in 2 Corinthians 5:15, reminding us of this profound truth: “He died FOR EVERYONE, so that all who live would not continue to live for themselves, but would live for him who died for them.”

God will share His home with ALL who believe and receive His Son. In John 1:12, John tells us, “To ALL who received him and believed in his name, Jesus gave the right to become children of God.” If you don’t yet know Him as Lord and Savior, what better time to receive His incredible gift than now. All it takes is a repentant heart and a simple prayer.

“Dear God, thank you for your goodness to me. Thank you for loving me and caring about every detail of my life. Thank you for sharing my pain. Most of all, thank you for sending Jesus at Christmas to save me. I believe He died on the Cross for me, and I want to receive Him as my Savior. Please forgive my sins and accept me into your family. I want to learn to love you, trust you, and follow you for the rest of my life on earth. Then I want to join you in heaven forever! Amen.”
